I have a question for everyone on a poster that I cannot figure out. A poster house has asked me to see if I can authenticate this but it's a tough one from just photos, although from the evidence so far it does not look good.

I'll list out the for and against reasons we have so far but maybe someone has seen this version somewhere else. It was sold by a well known dealer - if anyone knows who it is I would ask they keep it quiet at this point out of respect for all concerned.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Against
The poster house has done a microscope examination of the printing style and say it is not one that was used in the 1940's.

It has no white border with the SS Head Office printing details like other originals have.

the poster house also believes the paper is not from the 1940's.

      For
The artwork appears to be an exact duplicate of the original

This first one is an original with the printers details on the white border.

      This is the suspect one.

i like the suspect one.is it glued on a cardboard?maybe only the white border is cut!i have see this one with the"ergänzungsstelle"writing and with white border.

          Hi,

yes Uscha this is the one. I have pictures of all the french ones, some are in the collection of the Mémorial de Caen (courtesy of Eric Lefèvre last magazine on the french SS).
Anyone remember the name of the designer ?

Also i forgot the name of the danish guy with cap on the H'OC'H poster. I have it somewhere... but where ?

Kuratorium, very interesting poster you found ! Never saw it.
This is clearly a poster for the SS-Wallonie, as a recruitment campaign took place in the stalags (check the "prisonner" at the left).
You have a belgian badge (with "Wallonien" or "Wallonie" at the top) on the tarnjacke. The poster was probably printed in 1943 ?

          See You

            Hi,

with the help of Loïc (Helbe), we will try to propose you a summary of the french SS propaganda posters (+ flyer/postcards/booklets), and some of the sources with original copies (museums etc).

            See You

            Vince

PS : i still have to get the pictures of the propaganda posters of Latvia...

Vince - any idea who the artist is on this poster - it is not Anton and is only signed

I also would like to know who was the artist that painted the poster.
The subject was taken from this photo of SS KB Dürr.

It is in this post-card serie:

this is one of my favorite Anton designs - even my Mom likes this one and she mostly hates my collection..

This is probably the best thread to post in. I've recently started collecting these myself, but I'm not sure what price range posters usually go for. I know it's probably 'whatever someone's willing to pay', but is there a range you guys think is appropriate? I don't want to overpay for a collection. If some of you can also check my SS Belgium Poster thread and tell me what you believe is a fair value, provided it's real. Thanks, I'm learning so much from you guys on this site, I even bought a membership. Scott
