Thanks, I've only come across French versions myself.

This one is not technically mine yet, but I'm in the final stages of acquiring it. It's a Waffen SS recruiting poster, and was one of the few that received a somewhat glossy finish. The information of the local recruiting office for the area was written/printed in the orange band along the bottom edge.

I've always loved the look of this poster. I find it fascinating because it really conveys the message that the recruiters and propaganda artists were trying to get across: the proud, handsome Aryan man, gazing stoically into the distance, ready to fight bravely with his brothers for the cause. When looking at this poster, it's easy to see how young men would be eager to join this "elite" group. It really speaks to the sense of duty and honor that was generated by the Third Reich propaganda during this militaristic era in history.

Probably the most common and widely available of all the Waffen SS posters.

It has been dubbed the Paul Newman look-a-like poster.

Hopefully you are not be paying more than $300-$400 for one of these
given how long I have seen these sit unsold in recent months.

Nevertheless it is a nice looking poster.

Max, if you could show me where I can pick one of these up for $300-$400, I'd be a happy guy... I was going to acquire this one because I've always wanted an SS poster, but I don't have thousands to spend on one right now (I'm still finishing up my degree, so I'm not exactly loaded). I've seen two of these for sale online recently, but neither asking price was as low as what you've suggested.

                  Dave,

One of these was on the EStand before the holidays that went unsold for many weeks. I believe by the end it was going for about 175 pounds, so I am with Max, they are fairly readily available and should not be one that would break the bank.

Kristof's poster on the otherhand is an uber rare, one looker, that would command quite a nice sum, imo.

Thanks for the info! I assumed that he meant he knew of a poster currently being offered for that price. I know the prices at the E-Stand tend to be more reasonable than those of many online dealers. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find an SS poster in that price range yet... If only I had been a member of this forum back then!

                      Hi,

sorry this is my error, all the replies i made on the original topic are here ^_^

To date, and after buying more than 15 originals, i never saw any blank fakes.
I would be interested to see any fake to be honest.

                      See You

Thanks, Patrick. I had taken a look at that one a while back, but I'm not a huge fan of the "collage" style posters...

Vince... for me this one is a copy of an original. The 'real' one has the printing address details along the bottom. Also if you look at a real one, the pictures are much clearer, but this is a well made/aged copy, imo.
