A fellow member asked about linen backing and whether or not it affects the 'originality' and price of the poster? I've always thought it does not affect price, because you are just protecting the poster from deterioration (colour fading, becoming brittle, taking tape off which is hazardous for the poster over time, etc.) and that it does not affect originality as it would with a cloth item.

I'm pleased to hear your opinions though. Any issues from you guys with value/originality if linen-backing a poster?

Yes, It is my old one sold by another collector in Norway.

Linen backing is fine and should in no way be detrimental to the value if done well.

It makes them far easier to handle as it has reinforced the aged brittle paper.

Only one of the posters I have has been linen backed. The rest I have preferred to leave as they are for the time being.
