      Greg,

Insignia looks right, but withoiut more shots of the interior false pipimg on the crown its difficult to say, I am going to stick my neck out and say Coastal artillery cap with original insignia. Lack of pronounced scallop, and what appears to be no false piping are my reasons, but as I said you need to post more shots .

      Cheers

      Mark

          overseas cap

I myself do not like the insignia on this cap either. I think the TK may be a copy, maybe the bird too...

                    Hi Greg!

How about a closeup of that stamp inside.

Mark is right, the cut of the cap is different than SS caps. it does not have the thick ridges at the top and the more dished in front to the flap. The insignias look ok and it is possible that this was done during the period. But what does an old hot air windbag like me know after 30 years around the stuff and you should know better than to listen to me.

To add,the cut is nothing like that of David Rs cap, so it is not a match as far as caps go.Or perhaps my observations are completely off since I know absolutely nothing regarding this stuff.

I agree with John, the cut of the cap is different does not have the false piping in the crown, insignia look OK to me as well.
