Well, for starters, the cufftitle, sleeve eagles (which are loosely based on an original style), and collar tabs are all fakes. Originals of all of these can be found on the forum with a search. Keep in mind that with eagles and tabs, a cardboard template was used to guide the embroiderer, ensuring consistency. The tunic looks like an original army EM's tunic, and is marked to the 9th battalion of Infantry Regiment 135. There is also a bogus circular document stamp which should never be found in a tunic. The one thing which might be real SS, and which I would like to see more clearly, is the cap eagle. I'm sorry to disappoint you and your friend, but the only people who would insist this uniform is original are either inexperienced or unscrupulous...

Maybe he himself didnt know its fake, but i do belive the tunic is a nice Berlin 1938 dated Heer EM tunic which should be turned to its original state. Anyhow sometimes veterans repurchased there stuff and they did not know its repro.... a catch 22..........

Bad insignia aside that is a very nice early M36 Heer tunic in a big size. I agree with Apathy, also that many Vets did not know what was junk and what was not. I met a lot of German vets that had bought repros to replace original uniform items, awards and insignia etc. that were lost duirng the War or after and they thought ithey were real items etc.

Hi
I would love to see better photos of the tunic interior. It does't look that the tunic was shortened?. Any vevidence of a Heer eagle ( It should have evidence of one) It is a nice Heer tunic. Could it be an SS converted Army tunic that was stripped post war and restored?
I would not pay mora than the price of a stipped M 36 tunic.
just my opinion
