This Frontkjemper badge with thin needle (marked: ”820S”) belonged to Leif Sylvan Knutsen. He came from Skien in Norway. He became a member of Nasjonal Samling (NS) in 1934 (the party were founded in 1933) and he was an active member of Rikshirden, and served in the Hird staff in Skien. He was a personal friend of Vidkun Quisling, and Quisling visited his home in Skien. Knutsen eventually became SS-Rottenführer in “Den norske Legion” (DNL), and served in the staff of the 2nd.Company. He stayed with DNL until 24.II.43 (this date and year is also engraved inside his ring). When he came back to Norway he became an agent in SIPO (“Security Police”).

very interesting and rare grouping... The Frontkjemper badge is one of my favorite . compliments
I have a question regarding the St. Olaf Cross machine embroidered patch on the left arm of the volonteer: which type was it? I've seen silver/gray on black example and I own a cut-off piece in the yellow/red colors taken off, I believe, from an arm-band...
thanks
Max
