    Something new: (crimped M1/52 skulls)

    Following the early Deschler skull thread, here is a similar case, where the dies used to make the aluminum "M1/52" marked skulls were altered before making the same skull in zinc:

    This zinc skull variation by the way, is amongst the rarest of SS skulls.

          Finally, the coolest change was the crack under the nose and the groove in
          the upper-left crossbone, (obviously copying that of the Zimmermann skull pattern's features).

                  I observed that the base material (without silver finish) for this particular zinc model seems to be darker, very dark grey.

                    That is correct , VERY dark .. !

                    Even more so in hand , I have used extra light in the pics on the other thread to show detail .
                    Here's one that does it more justice - next to a standard discs zinc Deschler . The " dark one " has only very little silver-finish left around the edges ( and of course on the reverse ) ..
