That is truly a rare variety. It struck me as odd the first time I noticed it on a Deschler skull too, as the M looks like an inverted W. However, there is no question about originality.

Here is the first one I ever saw (or at least noticed). There was another sold at this year's MAX show.

one of the harder to find deschler variety. i had been looking for this variant (with 2 pins and in good condition)for long, no luck yet. the same goes to 499/41 zinc and 254/42

Here is one of mine which I did not notice till Brad pointed it out to me at the MAX. I have had a few of these. I will also try to take better pics of the back soon!

On the picture looks like stamped, at least for me that's why I asked

Sometimes photos can give that impression, but I have handled Bill's TK and I can tell you that it is original and has the proper raised markings.

Congratulations on your TK, by the way!

                        Best,

                              Deschler Aluminum

While at the Kassel show in Germany, I ran across a Deschler aluminum skull that was scooped out on the backside and had the RZM M1/52 marking on the center area of the bottom portion of the jaw. Does anyone have an example of this skull?
