    Danziger TK on Furcap??

    Hi:
Would a Danziger TK like this ever be found with an SS eagle on a fur cap??
I believe I've seen a popular picture of Sepp Dietrich wearing a fleece winter cap upon which was found an eagle and a 2nd pattern TK.

Cannot see any maker marks...but have not tried to clean it either...assuming none are there.

That is a heer tradition badge, as worn by Kavallerie Regiment 5.It was worn on headgear, between the national eagle & the cocade. It is the'tilting skull' variant.
I have a skull similar to the one posted, only the prongs are not brass.
This type of skull has recently been faked, but yours looks good to me.

Looks OK to me. It would appear to be one of the same pattern as those recently dug up in Berlin? Which makes me wonder (if it is one of those) how long has it been on the cap? Could we see the rest of the cap please?

                    Cheers, Ade.

The seller hasnt more pics. He garantees it as a ww2 one!

Hope someone could give me more information. Cossack seems to be not so much collected on this forum.

I would really want to see the cap in much better detail. Close up to the top and some shots of the interior. All patterns of Russian caps are now faked.

                          Cheers, Ade.

                            SS-Peaked Cap Totenkopf Find

In a German newspaper a picture was shown of workmen holding in their hands dozens of Totenkopfs. Supposedly these were un-earthed when they were tearing down an old barrack near Berlin in the sand under the basement.

Unfortunately I could not put my hands on a picture of this paper, but was offered some of these Totenkopfs. Having heard so many crap stories about finds, I thought to share an example of these Totenkopfs to get an opinion on them. There are 2 varieties.

If they are correct they will be available in a small number.

They do not have any markings.

                            Thanks.
