    John:

Having conversed and dealt with you in the past, my only advice on these rare and expensive tunics is the "guarantee" offered by the vendor. One can opine ad nauseum on whether these items conform to period specifications, but the fact of the matter remains, if your seller, for the kind of money you should be shelling out for these tunics, does not offer you an unconditional guarantee, then please pass on these items. From the tone of your post, it appears you have a short time period to make up your mind. If the vendor is requiring an immediate decision b/c of statements that other parties are interested, then that is a bad indication. I understand and know you are an astute professional, but too often, we chase the "sexiness" of acquiring a piece and leave common sense out of the transaction. While I acknowledge a guarantee is only worth the person guaranteeing it, it gives you as a consumer the only tangible legal assurance that you can recover if the item is discovered as fake. Having represented some high profile clients in cases of of third reich fraud, I know from whence I speak. With the kind of money you should be spending, the quality pieces will find you with impeccable provenance that you can determine and trace to the month. If you cant on these 3, then pass, sincerely

"this one in wire doesn't have the same head with long beak as the BeVo ones do.."

      Ian,
I think that is due to the way it has been sewn on, below is a mint bigfoot fake , this is an early type, as they have been copied twice
      cheers,

Thanks for the input and opinions. I don't feel comfortable enough to make an investment in this piece anymore. Gonna pass on it.

                Hi Hardigan,

Please help me learn. What is your issue with the buttonholes? What should I be looking for?

                Thanks

That is a strange and amusing comment! Is that the only observation on this tunic? buttonholes? what on earth is wrong with the buttonholes?

I await the answer in breathless anticipation!
                    Cheers, Wade K.

I wouldn't hold your breath Wade. Another troll posting methinks!
Good call John on not investing in this one. You'd never be happy with it.

Here is a message and two pics forwarded to me via email from Hardigan.

                        John

                        Hello John

This is what real buttonholes always look like on real tunics , very thick and tight ! Even the Copy Janhke tunics have better buttonholes then that "Der Fuhrer" tunic !!
Everything what the Germans made then was of high quality , even the buttonholes ! The buttonholes on the DF tunic are very poor done !
BTW Where is the upper button of this tunic ?
I can't send pictures to this forum , can you send them ?

                        Greetings

You are correct about the way that buttonholes are constructed for the most part. But they are not a fool proof wayof judging authenticity.I have seen originals with poorly reinforced button holes. The pictured tunic does not show enough of the hole to pass judgment in that respect. But because of its pristine condition and fake insignias its not unreasonable to assume its newly made.

Here is a close-up of the top buttonhole on the tunic in question. The best I can do unfortunately.

I do have one other question for you guys on this tunic. Obviously it's too questionable a tunic for me to consider buying, but I'm curious about the dagger hanger. Assman marked. Are these being faked too, just like our badges, or have they added a real one along with some real insignia?

                                Hello John

Almost everything of the German Army is copied like
uniforms, daggers, insignia, medals etc.. , from very bad to extremely good by fakers , and of course the DDR reproduced belts,chin-cords,helmet-liners,bajonets,Y-straps etc..in exactly the same way !

Maybe the Dagger-hanger and for example the buttons are good , remnants of stocks !

                                Greetings
