    SS Rank Tab Opinions?

SS Rank Tab Opinions? Passes UV and burn test. The metal parts has turned green on the reverse, usually happens on copper, so that might be the material on those. The black cloth is sorrounded by a silver-metal-thread. Else than that I have no clue.

I don't have a good feeling about this one. The wear and age on the pips is unconsistant with the tab. The buckrum also seems out of place.

what wear? The pips still hast most of the white/silver color remaining. Copper turns green in moist enviroments. Every parts of the tab is in excellent condition with equal wear. What you see on the black parts is dust and filth. This material seems to attract other material-

You could be right, just my opinion. The tab has some merit. Some of my rank tabs to compare.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, velveteen tabs were most common pre and early war. However, any such type of material (moleskin, velveteen, wool, rayon, etc.) could have been, and was used throughout the entire war.

Yes, it seemed to be reserved only for higher rank tabs.

As you realize I want to be really sure before I throw them away.
