    ss skull fur kragenspiegel?

    Hello

Sorry but my english is not best

I bought this skull (fur ein kragenspiegel) last week as original but I wanted him here to test for authenticity

The only question is this skull original?

I thank you for your opinion

    Greetings from the Netherlands

This is a 1st pattern CAP skull and not a collar tab skull ..... the SS never (officially) wore metal skulls there.

It appears to be original and from the recent 'Berlin Haul' but Robin will be able to tell definitively.

        Hi

It certainly does not look like one from the 'Berlin Skull Haul'

I am not sure if it is my internet connection, but it takes an age to load an image (I managed half a skull) so I just gave up. Sorry about that, but I did try

This type of skull was worn on the collar (beside the litzen) by Kav. Rgt. 5
          during the early 1930s.

It also appears on panzer collar patches in some period pix.

It's the same size as a standard panzer collar skull.

          Not for the cap.

          Not SS.

          Not Berlin find.

So if I understand correctly, this skull is original 1930?

                Hello Robin,
May I ask to see the eagle. Is that an early soft cap eagle?

                Regards, Peter

                      Here you go, Peter.
                      It's an SS-VT sidecap eagle from c. 1935.

No problem. I got it from Malcolm Bowers about 30 years ago and I've never seen another one since.
