A piece from maker "2A" (see the first post in this thread to understand what "2A" means)

This fake Kombination for tank crews was offered on ebay.

It's 100% wrong. Wrong construction, wrong pattern, wrong fabric.

Note this particular "oak A" print, this is a repro pattern made by a company in southern germany that sells these items as Repros.

Beside coveralls you will also find smocks, jump smocks, wrappers, trousers, caps and a variety of custom made items in this particular print.

The fabric used is not cotton duck but cotton twill.

        Autumn side shown:

This picture shows that it is not reversible, one of the many problems this one has.

Here is a Smock made by the same company (2A). Same low quality.

This smock is in my possession as a "reference", when new they are available for 50-100Euro I think.

Note that they used the same camo material also for the pockets.

Close up of the material, note the weave which is all wrong for an smock, coverall, helmet cover, cap or zelt.

Loops to attach foliage as extra camo.

I've seen these and I honestly wouldn't even buy one of these if I were a reinacter.

Tell us why, I would certainly like some definitive answers.

Please use the thread in the link to discuss the pink smock:

This thread here is not meant for that.

                              Thanks!

Bought a SS 2nd pattern smock from Capitol Historical Sales in the mid 80's, from George Peterson, andit was sold as a repro. He indicated at the time it was made in France, I'll post a pic as soon as I can dig it out, interestingly enough, it had a very very unique color pattern, especially the spring side, with a wierd almost "glow" green, the identical smock, and I do mean identical is listed as an original in a quite referenced softcover, also escapes me the title, but I'll find it. however, the book does show a vairety of reenactors dressd up, and identifies the piece as a rare uncommon color variant, and original. I know I have pics of the smock, although I've long since sold it (as a repro).
