This little grouping I picked up from Dion. He pulled it from the German vet’s widow. The tunic is also named so it is a nice tie into the docs. This is what she looked like when found. I have since steamed the tunic back to its original glory.

Purchased directly from the daughter of Capt. John O. Hall who was the military commander in Solingen at the end of hostilities in 1945. Hall is pictured in front of the Solingen city hall on pages #46 and #47 Of Collecting The Edged Weapons of the Third Reich by Tom Johnson – Volume Vlll.
The ‘rig’ included a pair of high top black leather riding boots, a pair of straight legged white piped trousers and TWO black visors. One is an Officer, the other is an EM with an officer chin cord that has been in place for eons. The daughters husband was adamant that it was the uniform of a ‘high ranking Nazi Army officer’………

NICE "ARMY OFFICER UNIFORM!" SERIOUSLY, GREAT TO SEE ANOTHER STAMMABTEILUNG OFFICER UNIFORM. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT AT TIMES OTHER RANKS CAPS WERE UPGRADED FOR WEAR AS AN OFFICER CAP, ESPECIALLY IF IT WAS FOR WEAR AS EVERYDAY WITH THE BETTER HAT LEFT FOR DRESS EVENTS. THE PROBLEM IS NO ONE WILL BELIEVE IT. HOWEVER, YOU KNOW THE SOURCE, SO WHO CARES. NICE PICK-UP.
