This tunic was purchased by me last summer from a vet here in town. He was given it by his friend on the front lines in France in 1944 as he was moving to the rear, and was asked to hold it for him until they reunited. It was all stuffed into a cardboard box when it was handed over to him, and when I saw it, it was the very first time it was taken from the box. I since sold it to one of the forum's sponsors, where it abides today.
