Worn Italian camo pattern pants

The material appears to be 100% WW2 era Italian camo. The things that bother me are it looks ot have been made very well! From what I understand most of these type items (Tarnhosen & Tarnjacke) were made at the Kompanie level. That being said, the keyholed and bartacked button holes are a fine detail for a Kompanie produced item. The butons on it look to be the type commonly found on finished war time Italian camo zelts. Could a finished Italian camo zelt been used to make these Tarnhose during the war and all the zelts buttons were reused in the finished product? Sure, but they could have easily been made last week as well.

Hello
I agree , it is a very nice cammo trouser.
Regarding when it was made , same opinion as the others .
IMHO this one is post war made and was not worn in combat , I would expect to see different wear in different areas of the pants ( real wear in combat would show right away) .
Best Regards

hello,
unregular items made from camo italian or german individual ponchos were generaly made by tailors in units, at differents levels, or in limited quantity in civilians shops or small plants.
so quality of manufacturing could show large variations, from very poor to hight.
we have to keep in mind that some of those existing pre may 45 period made items were used (and repaired) after the end of the war.
and that lots of this kind of unregular camo items were made after the war too...
Gerd's one is very well done from this manufacturing angle,
like if a "half regular shape" was researched (ex flaps and large leg pocket),
but don't show heavy signs of wear that could be expected, as Pierre-Yves noticed.
the presence or lack of those signs can't be considered as an absolute evidence,
even if i prefer whith.
unfortunately,
i don't have italian camo trousers for comparison of construction and signs of wear with the one showed.
just few pics of an ex of a trousers made from zelt splinter camo.
back pocket
end of one leg
regards
