I agree with the sceptics. The material is orignal, but the way it's made gives me a bad feeling. I had some Italian camouflage in my hands in the past and 90% was post-war constructed. It's rather easy to done as there was no real standard in model. I have one Assault Gunners set in my collection with short jacket and a seperate tunic and M43 cap. These are completey original. One can see it by the wearing, construction and fading in some places due to age.

Well, yes and no. Many of the buttons on war era Italian camo zelts are made of plastic (possibly melamine) not baklite, although I have seen some with all baklite buttons as well. On all my original era examples, I have a wide array of buttons on them from three hole steel dish buttons to plastic to backlite. I also have one or two with the type buttons posted on these trousers.
