Camomania,
Willkommen! Yes, that is Italian camouflage. It looks like it may be WW2 era material as well. The huge question is, whas it assembled prior to Mai 1945?? I doubt it. Is that glue on the rank chevron??
Thank you Sepp.
This tunic is now on Japanese Yahoo auction.
Seller(not me) says sleeve eagle was removed from tunic, sleeve rank chevron was attached later.
Please let me know why you think tunic was not pre-1945 construct.
Italian camo is a mine field and delicatessen for faker as more ww2 period item were non regulation item....
I don't know if it's period done or not, but would have concern about the chevron problem, and I think this loop is really big, regarding the ones you would find in regulation items, of course.
Good WW2 made italian camo shelter halves are pretty easy to find at a reasonable cost. The m44 style of Feldbluse is one of the less challenging garments to make. If one has decent tailoring skills with the proper machines then it is pretty easy. The camo m44 is something that was not an issue item so now you throw field made crudeness into the works.
Judging WW2 german items comes from studying known originals and applying that knowledge to other pieces. A non regulation, field made piece is very difficult to give the thumbs up to. Especially when you add in the ease of finding the correct material (italian camo) into the mix.
