    Good evening.

A member stated that the General Officer's sleeve rank I currently have for sale on the Estand could have some issues. I am looking to hear your opinions on the matter.

How do you determine what is Waffen-SS or Wehrmacht in origin? They both used the same sleeve badges and wouldn't the "lions share" have gone to the Heer as there was more of them?

                      Paul,
sorry to say I do not like your example of the general rank insignia, as you can see from the other example I posted the bars are woven then sewn on to the backing cloth, this is how I would expect to see it constructed on insignia of this type, even the lower officers examples of this type are constructed in this way.

On your example the bars are like the oakleaves machine embroidered, they have even mimicked the line of stitching on the front that would have held them on if they were woven, also there is traces of the modern white paper backing on the back that the emblems have been embroidered through, so in my book they get a thumbs down , sorry
                      cheers
                      Gary

                        Johnsy,
yes, the heer and w-ss used the same type of camo rank insignia, there is of course one rank that could only be SS that of oberfuhrer as there is no equivalent army rank,

I have never looked for images of HEER troops wearing this insignia, do any members have any to share?
                        cheers
