There are examples of this style of eagle shown in the thread "well used ss insignia" at GD forum. Another one can be seen on Bill Sheas site as being part of the Beaver collection.

I feel it to be a mid to late war eagle.

By the way, very nice cut off eagle you also have

Just got this on saturday from a buddy I was visiting in NC. He was showing me his grandfathers' pics from the war (GI) & this was glued to the pages.He just ripped it out & gave it to me.......
