I recently saw a wire bullion eagle on black cloth. Under the left wing was SS, and under the right wing was SA. I was told it was an insignia representing co-operation between the two in the early days. Sorry, I did not get a pic. Quality looked good. Are these legit? Thanks.

That is the first picture that I have seen with it worn over the left pocket. Not that there are many pictures to start with, but the one(s) that I have viewed in the past showed it over the right pocket.
The next evolution of this award was, once again, a combination of the SS & SA insignia, for a joint commemorative badge for the DLV(?).
