Thank you all for your comments.

My friend in Germany thinks this is a good one. I had my doubts about it myself but I'm no expert or collector of SS items so I put it up for comment. I will probably send it back where it came from as no one would want it at the price I believe he paid for it. What I believe is that he got stuck with is a bunch of theatrical junk. He has a bunch of Helmets as well and he sent me some samples to sell but looking at them I believe they all came out of the east or even west Europe as movie props...only the helmet shells are real. SS Gorget

      Greetings Guys!

My SS gorget. Unfortunately, no chain and no backing material. Is what it is.

      Best regards,
      Bill

Does one of the SS runes have a small silver solder repair spot on it? If so, this piece was in Maumee Ohio this past weekend!

Craig has a super example of this rarely seen gorgets for sale at this very moment.
Have a look and compare here:

                    Pfui

Surely someone has an original example by way of comparison. These are quite rare as originals, firstly; secondly, the RZM markings on this piece are wholly bogus, and I shall leave the error in them unsaid so as to thwart the efforts of the evil to bilk us all. This flaw alone knocks this piece out, and there are others, as well.

                      SS Gorget

                      Greetings Don!

If you "leave the error in them unsaid so as to thwart the efforts of the evil to bilk us all." then only you and /or a very select few will know the error. The rest of us will be bilked by the evildoers. So would it not be better to share this knowledge?

                      Best regards,
                      Bill

There was a mix up here. When I looked at this thread in the Pacific Daylight area of operations, only the Petz piece was visible, not yours. I believe the Bell piece to be authentic, as I also believe the Gottlieb piece. Sorry for the mis-impression.
