SS gorget

I wasn't sure where to list this so if it is in the wrong place feel free to move it. I received a SS Gorget from a friend in Germany who bought it at an estate sale of an older German collector. I'm listing it here to see what everyone thinks about it since this is way out of my collecting field. I don't collect anything SS so I don't have a clue on whether it is original or not. My Friend sent it to me to sell it for him. Here are the pics!!

Ssg#6 Backing appears to be made of leather and I was told it is a replacement fron the original backing.

SS Gorget

Greetings Bill!

I have a SS gorget that does not have a chain so I will direct my comments to the gorget plate only. I can tell you that the plate does not match the one I have. Will try and get some photos tonight and post them tomorrow so that you can compare. But I would say that the one trhat you have is not a good one.

Yes, this is a bad fake . Many details are off, also the back side is bad. One of the clips in the back should be stamped with 3 things: RZM, ss runes and maker's code.
