The one I have is made of Cupal.........silver plate over bronze over aluminium, just like the manufacturing style of cap eagles etc.I'd post a picture of it, but the 'attachments' facility on the site seems to have a problem at the moment.Skull stickpins certainly did exist pre-1945. I have a Prussian one in solid 18 carat gold, in it's original fitted case. I also have several in silver and plated brass and bronze for the Brunswick and prussian hussars.They shouldn't be attached to LDO cards though, as the LDO dealt only with awards, which these things weren't.
