      Baueinsatz Ost

Beyond colleague Lumsden's wise intervention, apropos "Baueinsatz Ost" there are such titles as: Roessler, et al. Der Generalplan Ost; Schulte, Zwangsarbeit und Vernichtung; Kaienburg, die Wirtschaft d. SS; Fings, Krieg, Gesellschaft u. KZ; Allen, Business of Genocide. The last of these is in English. The SS Wirtschaft und Verwaltungsamt empire is every bit as interesting an historical phenomenon as the fighting units. The regalia from Slovenia is impressive, and a welcome change from what often gets postes here from the same old places. Slovenia, of course, was closer to the action, without putting too fine a point on it.

          Google?

Hi; I Googled "SS-Baueinsatz" and got this goofy Hollywood repo dealer who makes a bizillion repo SS cuff titles and a real neat scholarly research on Dutch workers in the east. They wrote about a report of the SS Baueinsatz having 3-4K workers in 42-43. Humm. Doug

            Hi Rob,
Thankyou very much for your comment, I'm sorry, but the "D" boards arent for sell, I need them to complete a SS M36 tunic.

              Hi Donald,
Thankyou very much for your comment, is really appreciated, now I know a little more of this SS Organization like the SS-Baueinsatz-Ost.
I'm working here in Slovenia, but I was Born in Italy, in Bozen (old Sudtirol) and this insigna is the result from my last tour at home, very luck must tell. In Sudtirol there are still a lot of SS Vets and almost in all family there are souvenir of the 2 WW.
Very easy found something..but very difficult to have the confidence with this people and buy or have something in present.
This is for all things, not only for the insigna, like uniforms , helmets etc.
Here in Slovenia is very difficult found something, during the Tito Era, almost all was destroied...unfortunately.
But , I must to tell that with this Forum is more easy for me with the time to recognize the original stuff, all is full of fakes..
              But, Thankyou !

                Hi,
The words in this Der Fuhrer Cufftitle arent centered because the title was shortened when it was on the tunic.

                      Lorenz.

If you ever decide to sell the two eagles shown below, I'd buy them.

                        Thanks Lorenz,
The reason I asked was a few years ago I posted an eagle similar to the bottom one and it got a . I've just dug it out of my 'rejects' box, compared it to yours and there seems to be alot of similarities. I will post a photo of it later.
Do any other forum members have any opinions on this eagle?

                          Hello Lorenz,

What I meant to say is that the words Der Führer go up at an angle and are not centered, top to bottom, evenly. That's how it looks in the pic, or is it just me?

                            Hi Gene,
I dont understanded in my first answered about the words of the Der Fuhrer letter, but Yes arent perfectly centered, here an other exemple, centered, but IMO is normaly on rzm title found some words not centered, I noticed expecially in name court, like Wiking, Der Fuhrer, Das Reich etc..

                                Gene,
there is nothing wrong with the cuff title, they tend to embroider these from a continuos roll most of the time, and sometimes the band moves while being embroidered, in theory the embroidery should be dead centre, in practice many are not
                                cheers
