But was this a practice by several, or an isolated case of a man using an NS patch?

After owning and seen a large number of these Germanske SS Norge ravens, I only have seen the German made in cotton.
But of course another version could have been made.
The raven Minister Sverre Riisnes is using on his great coat could be an Norwegian made one ?
A pitty the details on the photo are so bad.

I have many photos (and also film) of the Norwegian made raven in use, all of them 1941-42 and not only by Riisnes. They are easy to spot because of the narrow wings, and red (appears white/grey on B/W photos) fields inside the suncross (the German made raven have black fields, that makes the suncross stand out clear). I guess they used the Norwegian made until they received the German made ones, and that it took some time before all where changed on the uniforms. The Norwegian made ravens are also of cotton construction
The only piece of GSSN insignia that to my knowledge have not been produced in a Norwegian version is the shoulder boards .
Jonas Lie (who had the rank of "SS-Standartfører in GSSN) amongst others had also silver piping around the collar (and collar patches), and it can be seen used by other offisers as well .Last edited by Hilton; 04-10-2019, 09:13 AM.

Very nice photos, thank you guys for sharing them.
I have only been able to see one GSSN uniform in person, at a museum in Trondheim, and at the time I wasn't really sure exactly what I was looking at to really look at the details. It's my understanding that there are very few intact uniforms accounted for in existence

....but it was still used by GSSN 1941, early 1942 ;-) (And also by the female NSUF athlete posted by Demil). To my knowledge the NS Føreraspirant school was not establish in 1941 even, the first Førerkurs at the "NS Førerskole Jessheim" started in the spring of 1942.Last edited by Hilton; 04-11-2019, 02:36 PM.

A bit strange to have a "coloured" raven on the Germanske SS Norge uniform I must admit….
MrMiller have you seen another type of raven used by the Germanske SS Norge that the German black and white model ?
