I showed this to Dave Delich, who liked it. Definitely not a "factory" piece, but probably made in 1942 when this unit was raised.

Maybe some of the Norwegian collectors know more about this ct.
Paal, have you seen this in period pics.? I think i have, but cant find or remember where. Interesting piece. Would also like to know if its original.

Craig Gottlieb, your cuff title is a "norwegian made" textbook example.

I know I'm reviving an old topic...but this is a very interesting one with lots of good info.

The sleeve eagle on the uniform is German-made, correct?

I know there was a very limited production of insignias by Norway...were shoulder straps ever produced in Norway, or did they strictly use the silver/black twist German-made Allgemeine SS straps?

There is a dutch one GermanischeSS on Ulric of Englands site has the short runes.. but the wolfshook triangle is of the NSB type not the SS type.NSB has gold, piping and, hook.SS should have silver.Unless the silver has worn, off and its a copper type wire underneath..take,look,guys..https://www.ulricofengland.com/index...g80z2h1u6dnh4m

                  - Yes the sleeve eagle on the uniform is German-made.

                  - The "Germanske SS Norge" used the silver/black twist German-made Allgemeine SS straps.

The Norwegian made SS arm patch has long SS runes.
                    The German made has short.
On early "Germanske SS Norge" tunics they used the SS arm patch with the long SS runes.

Did the GSSN ever use Norwegian made Ravens? I have seen NS Raven patches with curved vice straight wings.

So from what I have read, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, there was a very limited run of Norwegian made collar tabs, sleeve diamonds and cufftitles, however shoulder straps and cap skulls were exclusively German made?

There have been made Norwegian ravens for the Nasjonal Samling but never for the Germanske SS Norge. They only used the German cotton version on their tunics and great coats.

Correct. Early the Germanske SS Norge used Norwegian made cloth insignia. But the raven + shoulder board and SS skull was always the German version.

There was absolutely a Norwegian made raven with curved wings. You can see it in use here by Sverre Riisnes.
