Some how I wonder he writes "Kostumfundus" what is normaly witten as "Kostümfundus". Further from my experience and visiting certain Kostümfundus in Germany headgear and Uniforms are normally numbered or marked up for the storage place.

One Beck is mentioned in the phone book of Karlsruhe, but who knows ... I doubt it is his real name.

Out of the blue some random guy heard about a discussion on a forum and suddenly joins , makes one post and disappears...not even believable.
That person is either someone’s friend who was asked to do this. Or he is someone watching this forum but never joined, unlikely but we do get the occasional drifter from other forums who pops up to cause trouble i.e. “Friedrich Berchthold” . But I highly doubt it. I think someone asked a friend to do this to throw a wrench in .

I wonder how long this will last. Anyone who does not realize that all these discussions were orchestrated and handled by these same guys seems surprising to me.
And the main "expert" has completely disappeared. Whoever could have broken the cap preferred to slip away. He pretended that I had insulted him. I asked him to explain himself about this, and he was not even able to answer me.
I quote Ben "I'm disappointed as well, you are usually way more insulting than that!"
However, I should have sent him the cap. It's amazing what it stinks of manipulation.
I will leave it there definitively. It has been going on for 5 weeks.
          Enough is enough.
However, I will ask the moderators to watch out for any questionable discussions.

After reading yesterday that Post from Beck it dawned on me. With some digging i hit the right one. From what i read there, it was at least in 2 other Hands and then landed at the current Owner. They ran into the same Issues in there Thread as we did here. At the End, the cap disappears and no more Pictures where posted. At least it is interesting to read

Also a Thread that should be pinned. There are a lot of questions about these Heeres Kleiderkasse Visors.

                  Anyway

Now I realize where I see the cap before... I mark the same things in this old thread....

Small World. The Times where the untouched high end Stuff magically shows up is long gone. Hat was passed from A to B and then C decided i need get rid of it, at least that is what i read out of that other Thread.

basically on +20 pages Pieand defended his cap despite Ben and jacquesf provided infos which implied that the cap was bad, many pro and con useless opinions were given (which explain this never ending rollercoaster ride topic), then in the last hours it was posted that this cap (and its pedigree) was "known" (with the same doubts about it) and passed from collectors to collectors in Germany before being sold to Pieand.

What do you hope to prove by showing these two threads?
These two caps had been showed for authentification to me and I had told their owners that they were not authentic.
They did not believe me. I therefore offered to show them on the forum to confirm that it was not good.
I had also titled my request by asking a neutral question:
Pieand: "Hi everybody, Comments are welcome about cap and insignias".
This is also what the forums are for.
And I repeat, I am not an expert and would not want to exercise this complicated profession. Still missed Jacques
