I agree the front design is differing from the 2 others but i was only showing the weaving technic which is exactly the same on the back !
Same little weaves , different from the "classical" types observed …

        Hi everyone!
I want to bring an unpleasant story!
As described above, I sent Bob Hritz a letter with samples of the trapezoid, eagle, and LAH boards. He got them, we were written off, he confirmed their originality! Then he's gone! Does not respond to letters and does not send items back! I understand this situation as fraud by Bob Hritz.
Site administration, can you tell me or contact him?
That he'd give me my items back!

Bob is a hard man to reach in my experience(which can be frustrating), but I'm quite confident he is not going to commit fraud and steal your trap/s.

I want to thank Alen Davidson for being kind enough to advise me about the consternation I have caused. I am sorry, but working 7 days a week, as my business because of Covid-19 layoffs, I have had little time or interest in collecting.

Now, to the matter at hand. I want to thank member Novosibirsk for being kind enough to send me several pieces of insignia to examine. The pieces we are discussing are the bevo trapezoid and the sleeve eagle.

The sleeve eagle is a type that I have been aware of for over 2 decades. It is slightly different from the standard variations I have owned and is made of correct materials. The eagle is hand cut, which leads me to believe the trimming was not done at the factory and may have been found as a sheet of eagles. I cannot confirm authenticity, but can say the materials are consistent with wartime eagles.

              Now, for the M-43 trapezoid:

i do not have a computer microscope, so used a conventional microscope that my father used as a microbiologist. I examined the silver-gray threads, for the embroidery, and found them to be the same as two accepted original variations of the M-43 trapezoid. I then took small samples and burned them which produced identical results from all three samples. I applied distilled water, to view the absorption, and all three had the same results. I performed the same tests on a sample of the black and green threads from the background of the trapezoids and had the same results. This leads me to believe that the sample submitted by Novosibirsk to be made of the same wood cellulose rayon as the two accepted originals. Since I am unaware of any commercial production of wood cellulose rayon thread, I accept the sample submitted as original. It is not the only odd looking variation, as you will note in my attached photos.

I am sorry for the delay, but collecting must take second place to life. Perhaps this is one of the many reasons I spend little time here.

I will be mailing the insignia back to its owner on Monday.

              Bob Hritz
