Raak, how can you say that? What can you understand? From the color?
Sorry for the many questions but it's not my collecting theme and I'd really like to be able to identify it correctly.

I mean, the model in my picture came to the Finnish Defense Forces in the 20s.

These are made by societe d optique & de mecanique paris SOM

and they are telescope stereoscopi N:0 2 mark 1

        I have seen serial number 18 , 73 , 422 and they are 10 X magnify.

Yours are 12 X magnify so they are different mark ,but one cannot say with
        certainty the manufacturer.

Try to look underneath the paint at the same point as in my picture.

Thanks for your reply. Can I ask you if in all the models you've seen the '' M.a '' markings near the serial number is present? I guess that means Mark or Model, but in french the correct word is Modèle, with final e and not a...

There are no markings on the bottom what i have seen.

Only in the lower side .

I strongly believe that " Ma " is number in some language.

seems Finnish has Määrä for number. Does that also comes as Maara somehow?
Or are there dots above the a?

In Finland number is numero / N:o .

Määrä is like "how many are there?" "mikä määrä niitä on?"

                always ää

I played around with google translate. Guess that is what I get for using free software. No other language came even close to making number translate into Ma-something. Still, it was worth a try.

Some french seeking in the artillery, jumelle etc etc didn´t give any clues either.

Ma = at least it is not Finnish.

This telescope in question has nothing to do with Finland.
I pull out the knowledge that this model came to the Finnish Defense Forces in the 20s, I simply have no sure information (but before or early WWII sure )

The Polish army had French trench telescopes.
Germany had a war booty, I don't know Yugoslavia, Greece ...

The French had well over a dozen model trench binoculars.
This is not shown in the French Army Longues-Vues Binoculaires Guide of 1932.
Maybe it's an export model, but World War I or later ... ?

SOM made trench telescopes for the British army ... look link
(this is later model ,different lower part)
