      I like the Zeiss ZMG.

Pretty unusual, and the K shows it must have seen service with the imperial german army.

Maybe it was taken from someone else, like the belgians perhaps.
Or the russians,or just a very early german MG sight.

Certainly a really nice collection. I had never paid attention to this kind of optic.

                Another ZF12.
This one in the collection on display at Leica Sport Optics in Wetzlar.
Not the best conditions to get photographs, sorry about the quality.
We had a meeting there this weekend, so this is a bad, but pretty new set of photo´s.

Combined use of a ZF12 with another optic on MG34 mount on an armoured vehicle. Is the other part a periscope of a RK31?

I have been thinking about this photo since forever and I did not come to any conclusion, neither did I ever find any documents or mentions about this...

If anybody has any idea, please reply!

In another forum they mention it as an early arrangement in SdKfz 251 ausf A series. It does look like a combination of the ZF12 and the RK31 periscope. This could have developed into the ZF1128.

Will the ZF12 mount on an MG34 Lafette optic mount?

I imagine it does, as the pic shows.

I wasn't sure it they had altered the mounting block to match the scope dove tail or had altered the dove tail block on the ZF12 to work with the MG34 mount.

I guess the ZF12 just has the same mounting
                            dimensions as a mgz34/40

I believe Zf12 was used on the Lafette34 in a first stage, till enough MGZ's were produced. I read it somewhere.
