            looks like a 08/15 scope ZF 12.

            The bag looks like a war production where leather has been replaced by cheaper or just available materials.
            At least in WWII leather became scarce.
            That might have been the case in WWI as well, after a couple of years the depletion in the live stocks must have been about the same.
            Fewer cows, less leather.
            Very nice set, btw.

              Beautiful set! Congrats.

              Could we please see the reticle (photo while looking through the optic)? There are 2 or 3 reticle variants and I would like to know which one is this one.

                    Why are they two different models of the same optic? I would say the second is the standard issued to the Wehrmacht...could the first be an export model?

                      They're both Imperial German Army issue but by different makers. I've not seen many Leitz - maybe Busch won the biggest contract?

                      Interesting that the Busch one is "KF" marked - obviously re-used for WW2.

                        They look like absolutely different in style, design and finish, so I would have thought they were different optics
