    12x60 zeiss??

    Hi Guys,

i recently bought this rangefinder binocular. It looks very simular to other pieces i found on this forum but it's a little bit difference. Normally the knob has "farbglasser" on it, this one "kleurglazen" and that's the same thing but in Dutch! Also the strap is made of leather instead of canvas. There is no BLC or other makers code on it anymore and the black type plate does not look familiar. The number on the reverse side is 206662.

Could this one be made by the Dutch Nedinsco firm, wich was a Zeiss company. Or was it converted after the war for the Dutch Navy?
It's painted in white but underneed the white there's is marine blue. The white paint comes off fairly easy.

I will attach some images if i figure out how....

    Thanks

      Hello cel,

By all means you can paste URL Links to your own photos if you first-of-all upload your images to a third-party hosting company, such as Flikr etc.

Once the images are 'hosted' somewhere, then all you have to do is hit 'Quick Reply to this message', type your own message and then click on one of the icons at the top of the Message editing window 'Insert Image' (looks a bit like a mountain against a yellow sunlit background), and then you'll have an opportunity to enter the URL to your hosted image. Do this for each of your images, moving the cursor down to a different insert location, and 'Bob's your Auntie' - job done!

I hope that the above is useful, and I look forward to seeing your photos of the Dutch language 12x60 binoculars*.

*In the absence of a manufacturers identification plate, then I suspect however that your 12x60s were merely used after the war by the Dutch armed forces, and were 'tidied-up' somewhat. If you have a blank plate, then perhaps it's been reversed and the engravings will be found on its underside?

      Best regards,
      Paul

P.S. If you find that your images are too large, too small, or just in the wrong position, then you'll be able to 'EDIT' your message once submitted for a short time afterwards to allow you to make any corrections.
