Hi!
To complete my "Blindflugtaffel" from a downed Ju87, I purchased a Fl23334 compass from eBay.
The compass is in rather salty condition with the glass missing (a new one on its way), but priced accordingly. The "bezel" ring in front of the compass got fields painted red and green. The paint is worn and obviously painted many years ago, possibly done during WWII. I guess this is to indicate port and starboard but noting I have seen on airplane compasses earlier.
Do any of you have any information on this kind of markings? I have searched the internet for similar markings but without any luck.
Regards
