I have two examples of what I believe are authentic Luftwaffe eagles. The small Bevo eagle may be for a uniform hat and the larger, tropical eagle, may be a uniform breast eagle.
Any and all comments are welcome. Both 'passed' a black light test.
Once again I ask for your input on whether or not this piece is authentic. The wingspan measures approx. 2 11/16". The backing is dark blue wool and the rear side of the emblem has been covered over with some sort of material.
Hi,
this breast eagle is on a fliegerbluse I own. The rear is unusual in that it goes under the lining. It's marked LBA 42 so would have had an eagle applied at the factory by 1942, and there is no sign of a previous eagle. I'm assuming it's a manufacturer variation. The maker of the fliegerbluse is "Kurzrock", there is one reference elewhere on WAF to this maker (on a fliegerbluse). I'd be interested if anyone has come across this maker or style of application before?
