show us your private purchase leather flying jackets

some of us have been discussing private purchase leather flying jackets and its time to show some.

this is a very complicated collecting area as these were not standard issue but privately bought by the wearer and sadly today their are probably close to 99% fakes.

i will start with this one that was worn by a bomber pilot Herbert Kuntz who won the kc and the small pic to the right was signed by him at a paris air show in 1996 where he meet up with his old friend again and confirmed it as his.
(ive added all extras) and the other pic without the extras.

a french made jacket that was for many years in a large french collection till 2009.

Thanks for sharing Pablo10 and Gene. Too bad this field of collecting is riddled with fakes, nice to see something firm and real.

The breast eagle is lightly stitched down on the corners to the origional stitch holes. Best, Bill

Great tunics posted here. Here is mine. Some of the tells are the heavily scuffed eagle and shoulder boards, upturned pocket flap corner, heavy wear on the lower back and under the elbow. The yellow scarf belonged to 112 ace Victor Bauer. Jacques
