I think it's a repro. That style of 'A' does not follow the typical style found on originals.

Picture 1 looks like a very seriously pissed off bird, but I do agree with Mr Gordon on this one.

            Hi Richard,

            Thanks for the reply.

Might be the original true that along with the hinge have a D.R.G.M. marking, is true?

            Best regards.

            Julio.

The small "A" in conjunction with DRGM and the semi-hollow zinc-eagle with a large "A" (similar to the one shown here) are considered ok. There are two versions of large "A" in aluminium, one with the two bottom bars of the "A" on a straight line and one with angled bars. The latter is considered by most to be post-war produced. As a sidenote, the large "A" type features a significantly different detail behind the claws.

                cheers
                Peter

                  Hi Peter,

Now I think that you understand you... in the large aluminium with straight lines under the "A" are correct (image A).

under A angled lines, are postwar (image B)

                  What I have understood correctly?

                  Best regards.

                  Julio.

                        Hi Julio,

You've got it, but whether or not I'm correct is probably debated Either way,
I'm sure you can easily identify some differences on the two eagles you've shown us.

                        cheers
                        Peter

I'm afraid I have no even in my hands, I'm collecting information to buy one, but with so many doubts that delaying the purchase.

If the version "A" DRGM no doubt, what I will do is find one with that feature, and miss the big "A".

                          Thanks for the information.

                          Julio.

Please compare also the thin leg which holds the swastika in pic B with the massive connection in pic A. The repro (B) wouldn't last long in everyday use ... B indeed is a very bad copy. Unfortunately, there are also better ones on the market.

Do you say that the Eagle A is ok then ?
I have a similar that i get for over 20 years ago.
I post some pics of it
