I like the tunic. First it's pretty much a sure thing that the eagles are hand applied. an early droop tail also is not unusual on a pre 39 or 38 four pocket. The majority of the pre 39 tunic were issued without eagles and were later applied. even the early flieger bluse had an eagle applied after 1940. Plenty of photos to see for reference. The tabs hand sewn, a little suspect, I prefer the machine sewn on early four pocket. I believe the industry made time. I would like to see the boards on the inside to see if they are sewn in at the issue point. I have LBA Flak 38 never had boards but machine sewn tabs and hand applied eagle. Dave.

Hi there!
I'm with Stug III... The drop-tail eagle is correct for this tunic and the age it was tailored. All the 4 pocket jacket I have had the chanche of handled, carried an hand-sewn eagle. The thing that leaves me little concerned are the tabs.. strange hand sewn on this pre-war tunic, that leave the factory with its machine sewn. They looks to me quite high also .... the original ones are more flat, with a sewn thread thight and close to the edge.
By my side, we're in front of a good pre-war jacket, with tabs for sure add, but more likely also the eagle (too much crude the sewn), and the boards put on in more recently days...
IMHO!

Hi guys managed to trade for tunic to day,as the guy was makeing a delivery to my place of work. Any way i liked the jacket even if it is a rebuild as it came in at a good price. while taking some more photos i noticed the right wing of eagle was coming away from tunic, so i lifted it up . as you will see in the following set of photos.Attached Files
