                  Interesting development with the eagle. I still suspect the tabs and shoulder straps are post war additions.

                  My theory is that this was one of those unissued tunics, without the collar tabs and shoulder boards, that someone added later.(along with the droop tail eagle).


                  Despite this, it is a great tunic and it sounds like you may have made out on the deal, especially with the extra eagle!

                    I like the double eagles. I wonder why on earth someone would do that??? You should try the black light test on the attaching thread. It may give you a little more info.
