Perhaps this 'tail-section' was from a movie prop aircraft?

You know the ones that sort of resemble a 109 because it's got 2 wings and a propeller and maybe, just maybe, at night with your eyes closed it does resemble a 109...?

Anyway, maybe it's from one of them and that's why no-one can place it.

Richard, There is the soldiers name, unit, and date on back. It says "Taken by V _ _ _ _ _ Harper 1944 80th. Also the widow said that her husband had brought it back in a duffelbag folded as pictured and he had claimed it was from an airplane. For a good while he had it tacked on his basement wall. I didn't want to post this information at first due to the fact that I just wanted expert opinions and not guesses so I know it wasn't a movie prop. I am pretty sure it is a plane part but thought that all stable parts were made of metal. Thanks, Bill

Sorry for the confusion but I was referring to the tail section as being discussed at the start of the thread, not your example.

Maybe I should have posted this on another forum. Now I see that this thread started out about falsifying historical memorabilia. That is too bad.

the sad thing is that if it was an original piece he would have cut it up anyway

This is supposed to be a forum where things are discussed. Maybe you and I can learn something. Since you had made that one maybe you had made this one and sold it to the widow that had sold it to me in Ohio and put it in his duffelbag and had made up the story for suckers like me to buy in a grouping of items for $25,00. I don't think so. I am not asking of value, I am asking for some common sense and what this item was intended for. I have only the widows story and the writing on back. I would like more intelligent responses than the last one.

I believe that it is absolutely original, but I'm not sure what it came from - a trainer or even a dummy aircraft maybe. What is it's dimensions?

You can see that it was folded numerous times. Which means the veteran must have shown it many times. 13" x 13" What materials were glider planes made of?

Wijtman01 was again talking about the original piece in the thread, not yours. That's what happens when threads get hijacked. You should start your own thread so no one gets confused, and you don't keep needlessly insulting people.
