    Rauchnotzeichen K, info wanted..

    Hi guys,

There's a thread which title not exactly refers to the Rauchnotzeichen K, so I started a new one.., also to find it back in future.
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=926898

What do we know about this small smoke can, who has one, was it ever published in any magazine, manual, etc ?
What exactly does the label say ?
Was it only used by fighter pilots ?
Was it a common item those days ?

Fact is that they're rare and that there's no decent info available, all we have is a RLM sheet and a drawing in the Seenot Fibel.
I'm pretty sure that there will be more than that, but where to find the additional info ?

    Jos.

Rauchnotzeichen K is mentioned for example in D. (luft) 1203 page 32.

      Hi,
From what I've seen, it's part of survival kit / resources / accessories for LW team.
It may, IMO, depends on the area and the crew size of the plane.

I've got another example (but smaller), have a look at this page (last picture at the bottom)

      http://leuchtpistole.free.fr/Sommair...%20survie.html

On the other hand, there are other 'smoke systems' like:

      http://leuchtpistole.free.fr/Sommair...chSichtzeichen

And another longer system (~ Bengal lights) available in different colors (violet, yellow, ..).

Anyway, very interested by other members participation / collaboration.

      Regards

Thanks for starting this thread Jo's, these are also on my list of items I want to learn more about.

That is a nice example BrunoH!
