2cm
Hello Mike,
thanks for your comment - I was really lucky to find those in that condition
years ago in Spa, Belgium.
I'd be happy to know if there is a book about the 2cm markings,
color meaning etc.
For instance I don't know what the ocre with white ring & and the completely red-brown mean !?

2cm Flak rounds(20x138B) were produced in many countries at wartime.I know these countries: Italy,Finland,Switzerland and Germany. All those countries used own color codes.Redbrown coloring is visible at my book as an Italian and Finnish Round and it is told to be exact same as completely yellow german round -> HE round.

The Spgr. Üb is described in the manuals (i'm taking L.Dv. 4402/2 as a reference here) as having a "feldgrau" colour.
Although "feldgrau"could be translated as "fieldgrey", it is actually a type of green.
So at least the round in the picture has the correct paint, wether it's original or not: difficult to say (i personally think it's an original), but if it is restored, then somebody did a very good job.
The 2 cm Spgr. Üb used for 20x138B rounds had no filling, same for 2 cm Luftwaffe rounds.
However, 2 cm Spgr. Üb. used by Luftwaffe were painted grey, so Jippee, you have a luftwaffe version.Last edited by Zünder; 04-10-2010, 03:21 PM.
