Name tag sewn on the inside, I see. What's that yellow hand-stitching from?

I think everything has been said about the u-boat badge, the jacket could be a wartime specimen but your pics are blurry i would like to see some photos made by daylight and especially the backside seam from the interior thanks in advance

I think 48RMC means that vertical seam seen through the open collar?

              KM Uniform

              Hello,
I see this cloth U-boat Badge is once again being debated by sone now in the 21st Century. This fake has been around over 45 years now. They are not original. Any of these showing up on uniforms or in groupings, should lead one to view these other items that they are associated with, with care and suspicion.

              Regards,
              Jody

sorry guys for the delay. Here are some outside pics of the uniform and of the seam in the rear. It looks black but faded to me. The pics are in the same folder /new also. Thanks

IMO it's a good brown uniform that has faded from a more greenish color to brown...The sub badge is a post war embellishment....

If you remove the bad badge you will probably not see mint unfaded areas underneath...it will also be faded...remove the badge and close the stitch holes with hot water...(works better on rough wool but you can try).

NickG, just pour hot water where the stitches are? soak the area with towel? I've never used that method. thanks for the info. ill take it off and ill let you guys know what it looks like underneath.
