    KM Visor

This Jr. Officer's hat is currently being auctioned. I don't like it for 3 reasons: 1) chinstrap wrong, a type that can be new purchased, 2) bullion on visor away from edge and rope too thick; and 3) cockade and wreath looks like it may have black thread instead of bullion in the cockade, a la Janke. But maybe I'm wrong. I'd like to hear others opinions.

Off hand, it looks promising. There appears to be a tradition badge on the side. Could you photograph that please?

I am not at all sure (although it is regarded as "gospel") that the spacing between the edge of the visor and the visor embroidery is a "for sure" indicator of originality or non-originality. (By the way, I am quite certain that the use of black thread, as opposed to black bullion, is NOT definitive, and that the texture of the underside of the visor is also a potential "red herring" in the evaluation of a KM visor, although that particular criteria is still "up in the air").

I can´t say that anything speaks against it.

From pictures, I can not see any big red flag. Visor doesn't look bad, and I agree with other than spacing between the edge of the visor and the visor embroidery is not wrong with this one. Chinstrap look period, not typical but typical lacquered finish. Lining is also not the typical, so could be this one a foreign made piece?

                Hi

IMO the chinstrap is a french one.
This cap could be a french made one for the KM.

                Regards
                Ben

I was just alerted to this thread. The cap is mine, and the auction is mine (I will always claim credit for items offered, whether good or bad). Anyway, is the "french connection" worth pursuing? I want to be 100% accurate in my description, and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

To not misunderstand, I wanted to say the spacing ... is NOT wrong ...

                      Sorry, my mistake writting.

The cap being discussed is at the top:
