    Divers Qualification Badge

Hi I have always been facianted by deep sea diving and more over by the equipment used by the KM salvage divers, but I have a little question, how can you tel that a divers qualification badge is U boat or ship? and what is the diference between WWI badges and those used post war ?

Right now I dont have an example to share but I´m in the hunt.......

    hear are some period photos

6th October 1945: A diver who has been working on a wrecked German U-Boat before it is raised and destroyed in the harbor at Kiel in Germany.

example of a Drager Diving helmet as the ones used by the KM, amongst other models....

The equipment used by the German salvage divers is very unique in its characteristics.....unlike others...

I just love the design of the helmet both Draeger and Hagenuk

I guess this si a chapter rarely seen or noticed....

All of the abouve inspired me to do this 1/6 scale model:

Well it took me around 6 months, mostly as the items that conform the set dont exist in the market and had to be costum made, I especially had problems figuring out how to make the suite in a way that it would look like water proof clothing.

The set still needs about three more figures, a helper, a centinel and a master diver supervising the operation....

Any way does, somebody have some nice original diver qualification badges to share?

Well, truly outstanding. Are the diver and helmet cast from some type of resin?

Here are a couple of posts with diver's specialty patches:

These are supposedly the U-Boat rescue and salvage specialty insignia.

If you need one, for your collection, I would let one go.

The suite is actually rubberized cloth painted to match color from originals, the helmet was made using two plastic Christmas spheres and shaping cutting them to shape, the plate was made put of resin with metal bolts...

                thanks for the links
