Thought this was supposed to have blue offsetting color around the helmet and such?

Yes this is my main query... Nicely noticed!!

As there are a few manufacturers I was windering if this is a variant?

I have a pic of another example from a book but its not the same.... eg blue stitching and slightly different stitiching on the helmet. CSForrester may have an idea?

Hi Justin, IMO could be OK. The blue color of the thread arround the helmet is sometimes very clear, and with these poor pictures with flash could look as white.

yes i agree that this piece could be OK, the seller says its blue thread and is kind enough to send it to me for examination before payment.

I will look at it closely then but my feeling is its a good one and a variation of from a unknown manufacturer.

The deep sea submarine diver patch is very rare. I have never seen an original that was not embroidered with blue highlight thread. Please see my posted example. This one is a spare, in my collection.
