That is a gorgeous lid, Andy. Would be a perfect match for a coastal artillery uniform. I would jump on it but don't collect cloth. If I owned it I would feel compelled to buy a uniform to go with it!!!

I did very briefly consider keeping it and getting a tunic, but I don't have the room and I think the girlfriend would kill me

Good stuff! I don't collect KM per se, but I have picked up two KM coastal artillery shoulderboards. One is a cut-off picked up by GI that was in H./116 (29th.Infantry Division). The other one is also a cut-off shoulderboard and I picked up at a gun show about 6 months(!) ago. I know nothing about shoulderboards or cloth, but the shoulderboard looked nice to me and it was only $20.00. I will post pictures tonight and you guys can tell me what you think.

Why did one have the anchor with the winged artillery shell and the other just had the winged artillery shell? Just a different style or did it have any particular meaning?
