          Hi,

Well I have promised in my last post that I would post photos of the Graf Spee, unfortunately the photos are not so good as this ones, as I found them in the Portuguese Navy magazine, of 1937..I will post them later.

Today I will post the Light Kreuzer "EMDEN", that has been in Lisbon, once, in May 1935.At the time the Komandant of this vessel was KorvettenKapitan DONITZ...You will see Donitz in Lisbon...

Again, wonderful postings! A small point but I notice Dönitz is a full Kapitän zur See in the photos, not a Korvettenkapitän.

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm

                      Hi,

Here I am back again with another German ship...THE "KOELN".

I have two reports..one from 1934, and the other one in 1937.

I will start with the photos of 1934.
She arrived at the Lisbon harbour on June 22nd 1934.

Strange to see that not so many people was waiting for this vessel...
Also note the Flag withou Swastica.

The other photo the Kommandant of the Koeln pay respect to the Portuguese soldiers lost in Combat during WW1.
Again few people attending to the cerimonies...

                          1937

the koeln visited lisbon again in 1937 september 30th, during the spanish civil war.

The koeln arriving at lisbon harbour

people attending the koeln...(much more people now if compared with the 1934 visit)
