    Parade jacket / Affenjäckchen

    Hello,

my last acquisition. Looks nice to me, and got it for what I consider a fair price. To be honest, not much info about these jackets on Internet, so I'd like someone to give me a good explanation or source of more info.

So, here are few pics (made by the seller):

    Hi amiklic1,

Wait for other opinions since I'm not a uniform expert, but to me it looks awesome.

Does that say 1938 on the button? Same year my father was a Funkmaat and would have worn such a jacket.

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

I love that medal loop on the left, exactly the location where one could wear a Sport Badge pre-war.

Thanks for the photos. I always use ImageShack but have to check how to use Trixum.

Yes, medal loop is just what I looked at. I found some period photos, and from every available source I was trying to find details and check.
Unfortunately, I came too late to check here on Forum before I bought it, so I decided to give it a try based on my limited knowledge.

Ah, thanks. To be honest, I was waiting for your reply, as I saw that you have the same one. Mine still needs an eagle, but it's waiting on the shelf already.

Now I still have to find the cap (been oloking around, but that's not an easy task).

I plan to have 3-4 mannequins in my room. That would be anough to see, and an overkill to my pockets ;-)...

My main interest is in U-96, so I'll try to organize them as per the real crew members.

This kind of uniform was used mainly on pre-war, so if you want to build the mannequins arround U-96 you need to find the tally from the u-boot flotille were this was included. Also the badge for the loops has to be a pre-war one, usually a sports DRL one.

You also need to look for a carrer arm badge and 1 or 2 specialist badges for the letf arm.

                      OK, thanks alot.

I have DRL sports badge, but find hard mission obtaining 7th Ubootsflotilla Wegener tally. There is one on Germanmilitaria, but one side cut just where the letters finish. Hope to find another, decent and complete one.

Any clue where to look for the cap like yours, and what's the fair price, maybe?

                          Hi Eduardo,

One quick question. Have you seen double-link chains like that on the shackle buttons from the top of the jacket? I've only seen single-link chains, not dcubled like that, but then again the ones I've seen were actually made in the Reichsmarine era.

                          Best regards,
                          ---Norm

Also, what kind of badge is visible on your jacket, on the right side of the body?
                              Can't identify it.
