    Unknown KM tags?

    Hi

Can you help us with the following KM tags?

My guess would be key tags.

As any sailor will tell you all ships had doz and doz of keys on board all kept in one or two central locations on the ship and sometimes many copies of the same key.

Best example would be the key to a transmitter so it can be switched off and not on again if someone had to go aloft to fix something as the key to turn it on was in the pocket of the man aloft.

      Dear Ben,

      Concerning your tags.

      U155, STB Steuerbord - Starboard.
      U511, BB Backboard - Port-side.

I think that those tags were used during maintenance and repairs.

      yours friendly

I have a simular tag a friend dug up at Swinemunde, a Kreigsmarine area during the war. I too would like to know what this tag signifies? Marine eagle over M and M.A.Z.a. stamps. Perhaps a naval unit's designation? Penny and quarter are for scale purpose.
